Learn about our Governors
This page gives people more of an opportunity to learn more about our Governors, who they are, how long they have been a governor and some general background information.
Gemma Holmes (Chair of Governors)
I work for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and have done for the last 14 years - I have knowledge in HR, creating various statistical reports and data and some areas of finance. I have 2 daughters both currently in KS2 at St Helen's Primary School and I have been a governor here, since my eldest daughter (now in Year 5) started Reception.
Mark Walker (Vice Chair of Governors)
All of my children have attended St Helen's Primary school. My youngest child is currently in Year 5 with my two older children now being at Culcheth High School. Education has been a constant in my life having grown up with both parents and grandparents involved in education as teachers. As a senior leader within my church I have an extensive understanding on a range of areas that overlap with the governor role.
Laura Moss ( Parent Governor)
I became one of the Parent Governors of St Helen’s Church of England Primary School in December 2021. All three of my children attend the school and it is wonderful to be part of the Governing Board to contribute towards the strategic planning and evaluation to ensure high aspirations and expectations of all.
I have been a secondary school teacher of English since 2003, and I am currently Assistant Headteacher at a high school in Stockport. My role as Parent Governor enables me to give the perspective of both a parent and an experienced teacher when the Governing Board considers decisions around the strategic direction of the school. St Helen’s is a wonderful school with a strong sense of family and it is a privilege to be part of the Governing Board
